While shopping downtown, I spied this hopeful little sign of spring’s approach...the sun warming the shoots, melting the surrounding snow...

When I returned an hour later, the snow had melted completely, and the shoots were barely visible against the mud.

(BTW I found a great deal on some pants at Filene’s!)
